Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) Policy

MOQ varies by product family because winding, casting and assembly each have their own minimum efficient batch. The figures below are the standard floor — exceptions are routinely granted for new customers, prototype quantities, or where existing stock covers the request.

Last updated: 2026-05-18

1. Standard MOQ by Family

Cement (SQP/SQM) — 500 pcs per value. Wirewound axial (RX21) — 500 pcs. Wirewound tubular / corrugated (KZN, KH) — 100 pcs. Aluminum housed (RX24/RXG24) — 100 pcs. High-power tubular braking — 50 pcs. High-voltage glass-glaze — 200 pcs. Fuse resistor — 1000 pcs. Slide rheostat — 20 pcs. Resistor cabinet / load bank — 1 pc (configured to order).

2. Free Samples

Up to 5 pieces of standard catalogue parts are free of charge — the customer pays courier freight only (typically $30–$60 worldwide via DHL/FedEx). Aluminum-housed and tubular wirewound samples ship from stock within 1–3 business days. Custom samples carry a tooling fee (waived against orders >MOQ).

3. Low-MOQ Exceptions

We routinely accept below-MOQ orders for: (a) qualification builds for new customers, (b) replacement parts when existing service stock covers the request, (c) values that overlap with current production runs, and (d) Hongyi-owned safety stock items. Send your part number and quantity to [email protected] — we'll confirm within one business day whether the run is feasible.

4. Tooling for Custom Sizes

New mechanical sizes (custom cement enclosures, aluminum heatsink profiles, terminal designs) require tooling: typically $300–$1,500 for cement moulds, $500–$3,000 for aluminum extrusion dies, $200–$800 for terminal stamping. Tooling is amortised against the first order if it exceeds 5,000 pcs. We retain ownership of the tooling unless an exclusive-use agreement is signed.
